The hobbies of amateur radio and shortwave listening offer plenty of scope for practical investigation and learning in areas such as antenna design and construction, tropospheric and ionospheric propagation, satellite technology, high-alitude ballooning, software-defined radio and more. This channel endeavours to show how worthwhile, rewarding and educational activities in these areas can be conducted at relatively low cost, and without needing large "real estate". The focus is on learning by doing, home construction, and demonstrating theoretical concepts by means of "kitchen table physics".
