Laura Pieri was born and grew up in São Paulo, Brazil but always dreamed of being an American pop star. She moved to New York at 16 to further her education and to pursue a music career. During her time in New York, Pieri focused on attending NYU’s Gallatin College of Individualized Study, while developing her artistry. Inspired by a wide array of artists, like Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Prince and Michael Jackson, Pieri hopes to blend her pop influences with her Brazilian roots, while using her songwriting to connect to others in the way that she felt connected to, just like when she was listening to Taylor Swift in middle school. Now, at 24, Pieri is taking control of her career as an independent artist with the release of “Dante” and now "Sail Away" with a more mature and riskier record.
