Ladysmith Black Mambazo

Ladysmith Black Mambazo is a all male choral group from South Africa that sings in the local vocal styles of Isicathamiya and mbube style. They have grown to be one of the country's premier cultural exports, winning two Grammy’s among a host of other accolades.

With a career over 40 years, they have entertained audiences across the globe, sold over six million albums, performed for the likes of Nelson Mandela and the Queen of England, and collaborated with some of the biggest names in music.

The traditional music sung by Ladysmith Black Mambazo was born in the mines of South Africa where black workers were taken by rail to work far away from their homes and their families. When the miners returned to the homelands, the tradition returned with them.
