And here's a note about copyright and ads: My channel is completely un-monetized. I do not allow ads to be placed during, or before, or after my videos play. However, nearly all the copyright holders of the music in my videos, have some means to detect their material, and to cue YouTube to place ads on their behalf. That's fine. It's their music--and if them doing that permits me to upload their music for sheer enjoyment, then okay!
In my experience, bot police will instantly block most or all uploads of music by a certain small number of artists. Among them: Pixies, Van Morrison, Radiohead, Dylan, King Crimson, Beatles... That means some music I’d love to upload, I can’t.
