On her new album, Carnival, folk-pop singer-songwriter Juliet Lloyd showcases “evocative storytelling and raw honesty,” honed over more than two decades. Raised outside of Rochester, NY, Lloyd was a classically trained pianist and jazz trumpet player before studying songwriting at Berklee College of Music in the mid-2000s. It wasn’t long before she was a fixture in the Boston scene, releasing two critically acclaimed albums, touring the east coast, and garnering sync placements on MTV and VH1. Struggling with burnout, Lloyd walked away from music in 2009. Fast forward 10+ years, and in the midst of a global pandemic, she returned to songwriting and performing. After winning a string of songwriting awards and releasing her 2022 EP High Road—a “top-tier singer/songwriter album”—Juliet returned to music full force, performing 150+ shows a year at top songwriter and regional festivals and a growing number of listening rooms across the US. Carnival will be released on October 25th.
