"Sometime 40 plus years ago, Bill MacKenzie found my 10-watt college radio program and became a regular listener. I would see Bill at shows, and even had him guest DJ once or twice. But my path soon veered away from radio and music to other things. But not Bill. He remained a devoted, lifelong fan and fanatic, supporting local bands and those traveling through town. A few years ago, I ran into him at a show and learned not only did he live up the street from me, but that he loved growing tomatoes. That night, the seeds of Punk & Tomatoes were first planted.
