Out West Homestead
Hi, We are Susie and Bill from Out West Homestead. We live in the high desert in New Mexico. The elevation is around 4300 ft, with the surrounding mountains getting up to 12,000 feet. We raise chickens. We are up to our 3rd food forest. We use leaves to conserve water and to create better soil. We love growing a food forest. We grow food for the chickens, horses, donkeys and us.
We take the donkeys hiking so they can carry our lunch and water. We like to ride horses and have done some week long horseback trips with them. We like hiking and taking our dogs with us. They let us know if a rattlesnake is around.
We love living out west and seeing all the beauty around us.
