Welcome to the Official STATE OF THE UNION YouTube channel. My name is Johann Sebastian, the producer, singer & songwriter of the music and songs featured on my albums. My music is inspired by the electronic bands movement of the 80s & 90s; after being in different bands and not really getting anywhere with those projects, I decided experimenting by myself and started producing my own songs using any equipment I could get my hands on. Early in 1995, I was able to acquire my first drum machine, the Roland BOSS DR-660 and in less than a year I had my first demo recorded. Early on my sound was heavily influenced by industrial bands and Spanish-rock music. Although it was a big accomplishment for me, unfortunately, it wasn’t for the other people that listened to it; the sound wasn’t clear and overall it lacked a definite identity. Regardless I kept making and recording more songs, every time polishing my craft more and more... it's 2018 and five albums later I release my new production. JS
