Funch Cymbals
Hey there!
My name is Lasse Funch and I’m a cymbalsmith based in Denmark and drummer with a bachelor’s degree from The Danish National Academy of Music.
When I’m not hammering cymbals, I’m working as a freelance drummer playing gigs in Denmark, Scandinavia and the rest of the world. I started playing the drums when I was 8 years old, and throughout the years I’ve had the opportunity to play numerous genres with many prominent musicians. This has given me a great understanding of the different needs and expectations there is to a cymbal.
The lust for understanding the potential and individual sound of each cymbal has only grown bigger over the years and driven me into hammering my own. I’ve always looked up to and been inspired by great jazz legends such as Billy Higgins, Tony Williams and Elvin Jones - which you can probably tell by the sound of my cymbals.
