Vividly charismatic Egyptian soprano Fatma Said has garnered accolades not only for her virtuoso vocal agility and characterization but also for her idiomatic mastery of an exceptionally broad range of styles, extending across the centuries through German, French, Spanish and Italian song and opera, Broadway, jazz, and music from her Egyptian homeland. Her debut album ‘El Nour’/The Light reflects and also adds to the global axis of her empathies with new and innovative connections that are close to her heart.
Fatma represented Egypt on Human Right’s Day in 2014 and 2018 at the UN in Geneva and in 2017 at the Luxor Temple and sang for children’s right to education and dignity through music. In 2016 she received an honorary award from Egypt’s National Council for Women, and became the first Egyptian opera singer ever to be awarded the state’s Creativity Award for her artistic achievement on an international level.
