Started hunting and fishing when I was a kid. Love to deer and turkey hunt. Started turkey hunting back when it was almost an unknown sport and turkey hunters were considered "loners". Well this "loner" still enjoys the early cool mornings hearing the ole longbeards gobble up and down the creek. Just can't get enough of giving a big ole longbeard a dose of #5 copper-plated aftershave.
Enjoying more the use of primitive type weapons and have been making arrowheads, quivers and longbows since the first of 2008. Got my first recurve buck in 2007 and was hooked. My hunting partner got me into making flint arrowheads. I mainly use Novaculite, Kay County chert and some of the central/south Texas cherts. Lately been chipping on some Keokuk, Burlington, Fort Hood and Alibates flint.
Ultimate goal would be to take a deer using handmade bow, quiver, arrow and arrowhead. Would be hard to top that accomplishment.
Shoot straight,
