If you find yourself gravitating to any of these, try these 8 strategies instead (because they work!):
1. Eat in a moderate calorie deficit (200-300 calories below maintenance) 2. Lift weights 3-4 times per week (or do body weight workouts when you can't get to the gym) 3. Eat protein at every meal (not just a bit, make it the star of the meal!) 4. Go for a daily 30 minute walk (brisk enough that you raise your heart rate) 5. Sleep 7-8 hours every night 6. Get plenty of vitamin D (yes, that means getting out into the sun. Use a supplement when it's not sunny) 7. Keep stress levels under control 8. Do this for at least 6 months
