The highly anticipated Cigarettes After Sex concert in Bengaluru was abruptly canceled on Tuesday at Bhartiya Mall due to “local production issues,” leaving fans disappointed.
While the exact reason remains unclear, frustrated concertgoers questioned the city’s ability to host large-scale music events. One fan wrote, “Technical issues in the Silicon Valley of India—ironic. Bengaluru was once a music hub, now it’s just Bollywood beats.” Another blamed local authorities, saying, “Pathetic administration is ruining the city’s live music scene.”
Many also criticized BookMyShow for failing to inform ticket holders in advance, with some traveling long distances only to find out at the venue. The band assured that refunds would be processed soon.
This cancellation follows a similar setback in 2023 when Trevor Noah scrapped his Bengaluru shows due to poor venue acoustics, raising concerns over the city’s diminishing status as a prime concert destination.
