The initial ESL in Canada videos feature English students learning "ESL" English as a second language at English Camps.

These camps are in South Korea and include English writing, speaking, pronunciation, grammar and listening.

All activities, sports, arts and crafts, classes, travel, situation role playing and watching movies was done in English to repeat and reinforce the language in context.

The English used in the ESL in Canada workbooks was designed using the "Brown's corpus of most used English words".
Beginners were given the first 2,000
Intermediate the first 2,000 and additional 3,000
Advanced given the first 2,000 and additional 6,000

The English Camps language program also used the "Total Physical Response" learning theory to deliver instruction.

The students learned English vocabulary faster, were able to use the words in context and remembered words longer.
