The multi-platinum success of The Hoosiers 2007 debut album, “The Trick to Life”, and singles such as “Worried About Ray” and “Goodbye Mr. A”, raised huge expectations for its follow-up, not least at The Hoosiers’ record label. The prophetically titled “The Illusion of Safety” was, all the band agree, a troubled project from the start.

Fast forward to 2023, and the Hoosiers are about to release their best ever album. Entitled, Confidence and produced by Sam Miller, who mixed the first album, the album is a revelation, and features Hello Sunshine, a Sparks/Feeling-pumped-up affair about fighting to see the positive, as well as Snowflake - about how a being of true love, who seeks only to love, could expect to be received in the UK in our present times – and future singles like the effortlessly-fabulous, Idaho, and the Metronomy/Daft Punk-tinged single, Making A Monster.
