This song is really special to me. Most love songs are written about the feelings you have in the first six months of a relationship - at a time when you are barely sane and can’t really say that you actually know the person. I wanted to write about the less heady, but much deeper love and appreciation you have for someone when you really know them, and have walked a long journey with them through all of life’s trials and tribulations.
"If all that I had was you I'd be the richest man on Earth Oh I know it's true You're more than I ever could deserve I still say I do My everlasting love"
One year ago 🥰 In the months before my daughter Eva’s birth I found myself marveling at mystery of her young life. She was still contained within her mother - but she felt to me like the very essence of potential, ready to emerge into the unknown of a new world. She felt like Springtime I ended writing the lines
‘Is this what it’s like To plant a garden in Spring Or to be carried away on a breeze Is this what it’s like Tell me darling To dive into a sea of infinite possibilities’
At the time I had only just started contemplating the concept of releasing four Seasonal EPs, but it was immediately apparent that this song was going to be the cornerstone of the Spring EP. The season has always been symbolically associated with new beginnings and these songs explore a world that is abounding in new and exciting possibilities, a world in which, as poet David Whyte states, ‘Everything is waiting for you’.
A Sea of Infinite Possibilities is out now! It has been a joy to make - I hope it blesses your ears
‘You belong to tomorrow But I want you here today’
The track ‘A Sea of Infinite Possibilities’ was written in the months leading up to the birth of my daughter Eva. The track is actually played to the rhythm of her heartbeat recording at 20 weeks - the first sound we heard her make 🥰 I seriously can’t wait to share this with you on Friday!
If you’re feeling lovely you can do me a massive favour by pre-saving the EP graemejames.ffm.to/aseaofinfinitepossibilities - by doing so you will also have a chance to join me for a private Zoom concert.
To celebrate the release of my Spring EP next Friday I’m giving 10 tickets to an exclusive private Zoom Livestream Performance 🙌 It’s gonna be super nice - there will be a bit of Q&A, maybe a rogue 1 year old and I might even take a few requests (Disclaimer: I don’t know any Bon Jovi) To enter the contest hit this EP presave link graemejames.ffm.to/aseaofinfinitepossibilities 😘

I didn’t know I needed love
I didn’t know I needed you
Now you are the fire and the flood
And you’ve been making all things new
