Villa Albertine is a new cultural institution that’s reimagining artists’ residencies by breaking with the historical model of a residency attached to a single location, instead welcoming and accompanying residents across places and spaces individually adapted to their creative inquiries.
The Villa functions as a residence, a platform, and a resource for the professionals taking part in this individual and collective exploration, with an aim to better take account of the diversity of the United States and respond to the evolving aspirations of artists.
Powered by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, Villa Albertine draws on a dynamic French cultural network with a dedicated staff of 80 cultural experts and a presence in 10 major American cities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Washington DC.
