Yesterday I won purple belt middleweight (master 1) in the gi at the IBJJF San Jose Open. I had 2 matches.

Today is no-gi (adult middleweight), I should have 2 matches to win it!

At blue belt, I competed in over 260 matches in 2 years, and actually became a nomad in 2023 traveling the world to compete almost every week. Bronze at the no-gi world championship today! My first major tournament at purple belt in no-gi (got my purple belt 5 months ago from Greg Sirico at Odyssey Jiu Jitsu).

I’ll be including some of this footage of my takedowns in the first two matches in my newest video coming out soon about how 1 year of judo fixed my BJJ! (Uh, it also kinda made me a wrestler…? 😂)

Making a video on how JUDO changed my BJJ!

I won a BJJ tournament yesterday!

Well, my gi division anyway 😂 And then got 2nd in no-gi. This is the best I've felt in a purple belt tournament yet, and I'm not doing anymore weight cutting, so I moved up to middleweight! This is my 75th tournament overall, and my 5th at purple belt!
