Medieval aliens. Not aliens in the medieval era but full on knightly grey guys riding their alien steeds.
They were still better than medieval humans.
Then they were slightly behind in the industrial era due to lack of sufficient military spending and conflicts.
Gray concrete gray people apartments.
The lack of sufficient weapon technology spending was amended with a huge increase for scientific spending after they discovered quantum mechanics for the first time.
It was like their internet but they could alter the world around them as well.
It allowed sci-fi levels of technological advancements as they continued to mess with the fabric of reality itself.
Then they easily became a spacefaring civilization after discovering FTL travel.
A ship of an alien road tripping family malfunctioned in our solar system and they crash landed on our moon.
The alien family is American nuclear family themed ofc.
They have been trying to fix the ship or call SOS for centuries but with the vastness of space there was little they could do.
Eventually they became mad and decided to entertain themselves with humans.
