Dr. Robert C. Robbins is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institute, the president emeritus of the University of Arizona, and a tenured faculty member of the university.
As the 22nd president of the University from 2017-2024, Dr. Robbins leads bold initiatives in education, technology, and health, focused on shaping Arizona’s role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Before joining U of A, he served as CEO of the Texas Medical Center in Houston, where he launched cutting-edge collaborations in genomics, regenerative medicine, and clinical research.
A world-renowned cardiac surgeon and former Chair of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Stanford, Robert C. Robbins has published over 300 research articles. His expertise in cardiac transplantation and bioengineered vessels has positioned him as a leading figure in medical innovation.
