Ché Aimee Dorval
Canadian artist Ché Aimee Dorval is no stranger to bending and blending genres into her own unique style. She effortlessly mixes trip-hop, folktronica, and soul with an alt-rock swagger, perfectly packaged under a blanket of raw and magnetic vocals for which she has become known.
Che's most recent album, "The Crowned," released in January 2023, showcases her ascent to new heights, with a consistent thread of confidence and determination weaving through the entire record, signaling a new stage in her career.
2023 has seen Ché make a number of festival appearances in North America such as NXNE, BreakOut West, The East Coast Music Awards, VIFF Soundoff and Rifflandia Festival and perform shows with acts as diverse as Run the Jewels, Chromeo, Bif Naked and fellow Townsend collaborator Anneke van Giersbergen. Her journey continues as she gears up for a 15-date tour across the UK and EU in November 2023.

This series was really lovely to do. Hanging out with the Icons Creating Evil Art crew at their studio in Sweden and working with filmmaker Johan Lundsten was a dream. We shot 3 live sessions and one music video (Loveless) in just two days and there was little sleep to be had but it was worth it!

This one felt a bit surreal for me, as it was my first time playing the song for others since recording it the year before. I was definitely finding my footing with it, so to speak. It’s ok to be quiet online. I’d argue it’s healthy. That being said, the guilt of not constantly posting when so much of your business depends on it is a real thing 🥴
I’ve been doing a lot of writing lately which means my phone is on silent and I’m ignoring social media so that I can do more of what’s in this picture with brand new songs that I’m falling in love with a little more everyday. Excited for this new chapter. As always it’s starting to look very different from the last 🖤
