The Seattle WTO protests were a mind-blowing, life-changing explosion of culture, beautiful human expression, cross-organizational collaboration and deep education to all involved. Along with that came betrayal from the powers that be and a few activists who broke their agreements to the other groups. Determination was set. Issues were being discussed in tribunals, teachins and rallies all across town for a week and the full range of emotions were palpable on the streets.
The WTO Protests were not a battle. They were a time of effective and creative resistance to a system that is destroying most things that are good in this world. They were certainly not a riot, unless you think of the police.
All footage, flyers, handouts and articles were donated to the UW Library, Special Collections. content.lib.washington.edu/wtoweb/
