Hailing from a small town in Picayune, Mississippi, MONDUHGOAT started rapping at the age of 5 years old. MON grew up in a close-knit family of six siblings. His mom and stepdad were both singers, and as a child he was exposed to the traditions of gospel music and the rap trio that his uncles created. In between music, he played defensive tackle for his football team in high school. Mon admits that he decided to walk the right path, “I knew that all I wanted to do was music, so I was gonna work hard and not yield to street hustling”. His music inspirations span from Drake, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne to Michael Jackson.
MONDUHGOAT’s first single “From Nothing” was a total connection to his Mississippi, southern based roots. “It locally went crazy, and I decided from there to go harder.” MON worked 2 jobs so he could save up enough money to dedicate himself full time to the music game”. It was then that MON decided he would dedicate himself 100% solely to the music game.
