Bali Nine member Scott Rush has been spared further jail time after being sentenced for unrelated historical crimes in Queensland, just two weeks after his release from an Indonesian prison.

Rush returned to Australia earlier this month after spending nearly 20 years in custody for attempting to smuggle heroin out of Bali.

In 2005, the same year Rush was arrested in Indonesia, Queensland Police issued arrest warrants for failing to appear on unrelated charges.

After several days of freedom, Rush appeared in a Brisbane court to face those charges.

The 39-year-old pleaded guilty to multiple offences, including fraud, breaking and entering, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He was convicted but did not receive additional punishment and was released from custody.
