In my day-to-day life I am a #salestrainer a #networkingevent #host for a group called #businessatbreakfast and I'd like to say #youtuber although my boys tell me differently. "Mum! anything less than a million subscribers and you're not a REAL YouTuber." But, hey, we all have to start at no.1

I teach classes on "Networking as a Sales Tool" "How to go from No Sales to Sales in five easy steps", "How to be a Network Marketer AND a Mum" "Overcoming Sales Anxiety" and "Whose Problem is it?" Let's just say I have a knack for simplifying sales, and overcoming sales objections, that everyone can learn, even if you don't want to.

My channel is an eclectic collection of videos from networking, teaching, my boys and my #goldies but they all hold one theme - PROMOTION. Selling is about promotion. Promotion of an idea, promotion of others, promotion of what you want.

Networking: Do I really need to PHYSICALLY write down the name of every person I network with, at every meeting, in a notebook?

Answer: Only if you want more customers, more sales, more money and if you want to help more people.

The boring, repetitious stuff is the bit that allows you to be completely switched on in the moment when you truly need it. Everyday I talk to entrepreneurs and they all say the same thing, that they want MORE. More customers, More sales, More money, helping More people. When I ask them how many people have they networked with this year, how many meetings have they attended, how many 121’s have they had, they answer that they don’t know.

Selling is math. It’s all built in numbers. The first numbers are: Who are the people you’re networking with? For some this is an excel sheet listing everyone. An excel sheet is the equivalent of turning up to basketball training on 1st January, training once for 10 hours and expecting to be let on the court in December to play in the finals.

Can you solve this puzzle?
Ever noticed that converting customers to sales is like doing a hard Sudoku puzzle? You know you have enough information to solve it and you’re using all of your old methods which have worked in the past but for some reason completion is out of reach.

The similarities in solving the Sudoku and closing a sale is in the “old methods”. In the past, before Google, the Salesman was the “star of the show” as the Salesman had all of the knowledge and customers listened. Now, because of Google, the Customer is the star of the show, as they have all of the knowledge. (All of the knowledge about their problem and the 15 different ways on how they could solve this problem.) Because of the shift in the sales arena moving control of the sale from the salesman (in the past) to the customer (now), learning to sell has now changed. Because the customer is now in control, features and benefits don’t work anymore, but the line, “I can help you with that” does.

I’m always asked, “How do I get more sales?”
Answer: PRACTICE
You have to decide you want a sale everyday then you have to practice talking about this thing you sell, practice being silent so that you can listen to customers talking about their wins and failures, practice telling stories about what you do and practice failure. Not every conversation leads to a closed sale but every conversation is an opportunity which has a 50/50 percent chance of being successful. And when you practice selling everyday, success or failure still equals increased sales.
